Study collection of Jakob Schweighauser
Study- and raw material collection to the dissertation of Schweighauser, J. (1953). 70, 97 p., 13 plates.

This collection contains unsectioned and sectioned rock specimens, thin sections, washed and picked materials, isolated speciemns in Fema cells, all from southern Switzerland (Breggia gorge) or Northern Italy. In additio, there is a fine collection of selected discocyclinids (thin sections and isolated specimens) from Northern Italy and other provenances.

Especially noticeable is the material from the Breggia gorge, which was originally taken from the collection to the dissertation of R. Gandolfi (1942), and which represents the only washed and unprocessed material left, that was originally described in the dissertation of Gandolfi. It contains few glass vials with washed residues and few unprocessed chips of Scaglia. Glass vials are labelled with R.G. (from Rolando Gandolfi) and most probably refer to the numbers in the columnar stratigraphic section (Tavola 1) illustrated in Gandolfi (1942).
Other materials come from northern Italy (Prov. Vicenza, Veneto) were collected from outcrops and sections around Mossano, Valdeforte, Cava Zengele (Monti Berici), Bolca, Monte Spilecco, Valrovina, Nanto, Priabona, Malo and Vanzi. Material from these areas were also investigated by Hans Schaub and Lukas Hottinger.

There is also a card catalogue to sections and photo collection to the PhD thesis of Jakob Schweighauser in the geological archive.
