Raw material collection from the Oligocene from Leymen 1, Reinach, and Riehen 1A and Riehen 2 wells in the southern Rhinegraben

Raw materials to Brianza, M., Hauber, L., Hottinger, L., und Maurer, H. (1983). Die geologischen Resultate der Thermalwasserbohrung von Leymen (Haut-Rhin, Frankreich) südlich von Basel, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Schwerminerale. Eclogae geol. Helv. 76(1):253-279, and to Hauber, L. (1991). Ergebnisse der Geothermiebohrungen Riehen 1 und 2 sowie Reinach im Südosten des Rheingrabens. Geol. Jb., vol. E48, pp. 167-184. For the well Allschwil 2, which are indicated in Figure 1 refer to the collections of Hans Fischer at the NMB.

The materials comprises washed and unwashed sediments from the geothermic drilling well Leymen-1. This material is quite valuable as it covers the Oligocene (Rupelian) marine ingressions (Septarienton, Fischschiefer, Foraminiferenmergel), which are very poorly exposed at the surface !
The samples are from the following depths (in meters):
37m, 60m, 150m, 160m, 340m, 380m, 424m, 444m, 450m, 452m, 454m, 456m, 458m, 460m, 464m, 466m, 468m, 470m, 472m, 474m, 476m, 488m, 490m, 494m, 496m, 498m, and 500m.

For a description of the foraminiferal fauna and well- or lithological logs refer to the PhD thesis of Birgit Huber (1994). Rupelian foraminifera in the southern Rhinegraben and their paleoecological significance. Dissertation Geol. Pal. Inst. University of Basel.

Raw materials to the PhD thesis of Birgit Huber (1994). Rupelian foraminifera in the southern Rhinegraben and their paleoecological significance. Dissertation Geol. Pal. Inst. University of Basel.

Unwashed samples and washed residues from wells Leymen-1 (see Brianza, et al., (1983) further above), Reinach, Riehen 1A and Riehen 2, representing the Rupelian marine ingression of the Meletta Schichten, Fischschiefer, Foraminiferenmergel, and Meeressand, which all are very poorly exposed at the surface.

Samples from Reinach-1 well are taken at depths of 523m, 534m, 542m, 550.5m, 554.5m, 563m, and 565m.

Samples from Riehen-2 well were taken from 220m, 242m, 246m, 252m, 334m, 354m, 362m, 840m, 850m, 864m, and 868m.

For well logs see collection of B. Huber (1994).
