Historical collection of petroleum samples

This is a collection of 34 samples of natural crude oil from various provenances during the early 20th century and 6 samples of reffined oil from the Sanga-Sanga oil field in Borneo. The samples were collected by Swiss geologists like Carl Schmidt, Walter Hotz, August Tobler, Hans Kugler, Dr. Eugster and Walter Bernoulli during the early 20th century (ca. 1915 - 1935). It was deposited in the cellar of the geological paleontological institute.

Bottle No. 35 was brought in from Trinidad on 29 June 2023, by Sadie Samsoondar.
