Standort

Washed residues and picked foraminiferal assemblages in Fema-cells and multiple field slides collected from the Navet-, San Fernando-, Cipero-, and Lengua Formations in Trinidad. They include the foraminiferal zones ranging from the Hantkenina aragonensis zone to the Globorotalia menardii zone (e.g. the zones Hantkenina aragonensis, Globigerapsis kugleri, Globorotalia lehneri, Porticulasphaera mexicana, Globigerapsis semiinvoluta, Globigerina ampliapertura, Globorotalia opima opima, Globigerina ciperoensis ciperoensis, Globorotalia kugleri, Catapsydrax dissimilis, Catapsydrax stainforthi, Globigerinatella insueta, Globorotalia fohsi barisanensis, Globorotalia fohsi fohsi, Globorotalia fohsi lobata, Globorotalia fohsi robusta, Globorotalia mayeri, and Globorotalia menardii).

This collection was found together with the study materials of C.M.B. Caudri and is now integrated with the collections of H.M. Bolli. A list indicating the formations, the scientific names, the T.L.L. zonal terminology, the original field sample number, the corresponding Texaco (T.L.L.) catalogue numbers and the locality is enclosed. Detailed maps and sections showing localities can be found in Kugler (1996).

Kugler's Stratigraphic Collection of Trinidad/Cipero Formation, Bolli (1948-1955), and Bolli and Saunders (1958), the collection of Cenozoic planktic foraminiferal zonal slides, prep. by Hans M. Bolli, 1985-1987, and the raw material collection on Trinidad planktoc foraminiferal type localities, which are all deposited in the Natural History Museum of Basel.

Notes:
a.) In the various papers of Bolli and others presented in Loeblich and Tappan (1957) some of the zonal type localities were defined at petroleum development wells in Trinidad (Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company wells, TTOC). In Bolli (1957b,c and d) the localities of some of these wells are indicated by the old english length system, e.g. in links; they can be directly read on the geological map of Trinidad published by Kugler (1959), where the coordinate system is also indicated in links.

b.) Of the 3 formational assemlage slides with planktonic foraminiferal faunas from the Paleocene-Lower Eocene Lizard Springs Formation; the Eocene Navet and San Fernando Formations; and the Lengua and Cipero Formations, a duplicate set is deposited in the collections of John B. Saunders (see there under "4 '. - "An inventory of benthic smaller foraminifera in Trinidad, W.I." of Hans M. Bolli and J.B. Saunders (1958, unpublished)", Tray # 8, Assemblage slides Planktonic foraminifera from Trinidad).
