Collection of sedimentary hand specimens and thin sections of the lithologies and formations described in the dissertation.
Thin sections are mainly from the "Sannoisien" and the Rupélien.

Nice teaching collection for bituminous rocks in thin-sections. Collection of thin sections from bituminous rocks from drillholes and provenances in Europe, with enclosed list. The red numbers on the list refer to the slot number in the box.

With the collection of thin-sections there are 3 boxes with diapositives (plus list) about petrography of bituminous rocks, some showing thin-section images from above samples. Abbreviations on enclosed lists: C=organic C in % (weight); TE=Total of gasoline and ether extract in %; N= nitrogen content, CO3= Calcite content in % (weight). Teaching course of Peter Bitterli for sediment petrography of petroleum bearing rocks. WIE=Field Numbers of F. Wiedenmayer.
