The collections of Hans G. Kugler from Patos Island

Patos Island is located between NW Trinidad and East Venezuela. The collection contains sectioned rock samples from the Early Cretaceous Laventille Formation (mainly lower Patos Conglomerate Member, but also from Puerto Brion Shale member). No thin sections were found.

K4928: Portlandian-Valanginian (?): Laventille limestone and phyllitic shale.
K10278, K10280, K10288, K10305, and JS 1231: Early Cretaceous Laventille Formation (lower Patos Conglomerate Member).
K10287: Early Cretaceous Laventille Formation (lower Patos Conglomerate Member, component of brown sandstone).
Senn72/1-3, K10290: Early Cretaceous Laventille Formation (Puerto Brion Shale Member), see drawings of H.G. Kugler deposited alongside collection.
A piece of algal conglomeratic limestone from Patos (ex collection John B. Saunders).
 
Thin sections to some of the above rocks were received with the shipment of the Legacy of John B. Saunders, 23. November 2018 (deposited in drawer 3 of this collection).
