(*) Notes about Globigerina tripartita Koch and Globigerina binaiensis:

Globigerina tripartita Koch (1935) (=Globigerina bulloides d'Orbigny, var. tripartita Koch, 1926), slide # 21 (Fig. 21 in Koch 1926b) is indicated on the slide as holotype, but is labelled as syntype in the museum's card file. It was later mentioned as holotype and re-figured by Blow and Banner (1962), and Blow (1969), respectively; see Stainforth, R.M. (1974).

Globigerina binaiensis Koch (1935) (=Globigerina aspera Koch, 1926) was originally illustrated in two figures (e.g. Fig. 22a,b,c and Fig. 23a,b,c in Koch, 1926b). The slide holding the specimen of Fig. 22a,b,c contains only a disintegrated specimen (specimen C26221). The slide of Fig. 23a,b,c holds an intact specimen but with white crystal growth of ? gypsum (specimen C26222). None of the two slides was labelled as holotype. However, Blow and Banner (1962), and Blow (1969), and Stainforth, R.M. (1974) re-figured the specimens. In Stainforth (1974) [atlas, pp. 254-255] the specimen from Koch's Figure 23a,b,c C26222 is re-illustrated and designated as lectotype, leaving the disintegrated specimen (C26221) as the holotype.

The collection contains additional preparations with G. binaiensis, together with washed residue materials from samples Ating Dunok 491 (Bolongan, Eastern Borneo) (3 flasks), Ating Dunok 504 (3 flasks), and from Njak (1 flask). There is one Fema-cell containing 15 specimens of G. binaiensis determined by BPM (=?) as syntypes of G. aspera and 7 glass slides, all from S. Ating-Dunok A. 491. In addition, there is 1 glass slides, also holding syntypes of G. aspera from Ating-Dunok 504. One vial contains washed residues from Njak.
