Caribbean-Latin American Collections

Macrofossils without Cenozoic molluscs and microfossils from various collectors.

 

This is a larger collection of Cretaceous, Paleogene and Neogene macro- and microfossils from areas in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Chile collected by various authors and collectors, mostly from within the first half of the 20 th century. Cenozoic mollusks are not included here and are curated elsewhere alongside macropaleontological collections. Materials comprise a major collection from Venezuela, where Hans G. Kugler and collaborators collected macro- and microfossils during petroleum exploration. Much in-depth information about these collections can be found in NMB's GEO-archive, particularly the archive of Hans G. Kugler about Venezuela (NVP=Northern Venezuela Petroleum company).
