1.) Collection "Trinidad Foraminifera", prepared by H.M. Bolli.
H.M. Bolli's private* collection of Lower Cretaceous to Miocene smaller benthic and planktic foraminifera from Trinidad, that he has prepared between 1948 and 1958. There is one slide for each genus. The genera are listed alphabetically, the species are identified by numbers which in form are corrected with the scientific lists catalogue.

This is a very valuable - standard - collection leading to the TLL foraminiferal zonal scheme of Trinidad and elsewhere.

The collection is kept in 5 cardboard boxes labelled 1-5 comprising:

1. Allomorphina - Crithionina
2. Cycloloculina - Guttulina
3. Gyroidinia - Planorbulina
4. Planulina - Textulariella
5. Trifarina - Vulvulina

For scientific names see accompanied Volumes of "Cross References of Trinidad (TLL**/Texaco) and Venezuela (NVP*** Falcon) foraminiferal collections: Number systems versus scientific names. Prepared ca. 1948-1955 by H.M. Bolli". The numbers indicated in the Cross-References are the field numbers in the individual slides.

This Cross Reference is provided in two volumes: The duplicate is more complete and has handwritten annotationsd with updated taxonomic names.

Use the Cross Reference in combination with the "blue stratigraphic atlas" entitled "Stratigraphic distribution of smaller foraminifera in Trinidad", Cretaceous to Recent, compiled by H.M. Bolli and J.B. Saunders, February 1958 (located in the drawer below) [curator's note: the atlas volume was found in H.G. Kugler's hand-library; MK, 10.12.2002].

Additional notes:
* This collection is the duplicate set of a foraminiferal collection, that H.M.Bolli has prepared for TLL/Texaco. The first set is with TLL/Texaco in Trinidad.
** TLL/Texaco=Trinidad Leaseholds limited, former Texaco Petroleum company.
*** NVP = North Venezuelan Petroleum Compagny.

2.) Collection "Agua Salada Formation (Falcon/Venezuela)", prepared by H.M. Bolli.
A collection of Oligocene, Miocene and Pliocene smaller benthic and planktic foraminifera from the Agua Salada Formation, Eastern Falcon, Venezuela (see map) prepared by H.M. Bolli. This is the pendant to H.M. Bolli's Collection of Trinidad genera. Again, there is one slide per genus, and the genera are alphabetically listed. For scientific names see the Volumes of the "Cross References of Trinidad (TLL**/Texaco) and Venezuela (NVP*** Falcon) foraminiferal collections: Number systems versus scientific names. Prepared ca. 1948-1955 by H.M. Bolli" (kept with the H.M. Bolli's Trinidad foraminiferal collection). The numbers indicated in the Cross-References are the field numbers in the individual slides. A list with taxa is also inside the box.

This collection is the "Reference-Collection" to the publication of Hans Renz (1948) Stratigraphy and Fauna of the Agua Salada Group. Geol. Soc. America, Memoir 32, 219 pages. A detailed range chart of benthic foraminifera from the Agua Salada Group is in the back pocket of that book. The original report is Report No. 102 of Renz, H.H. (1948) and is deposited in the Kugler Archive, Box No. 12.

See also the topotype collection of H.H. Renz to the same publication of Hans Renz (1948).
