- Vema core V26-119
-
- A numer of samples were requested by Hans Bolli from Vema
piston core V26-119 for more detailed study of planktonic foraminifers
in the Quaternary in addition to those from DSDP Leg 15 (Caribbean
Sea, Columbia Basin, see Bolli and Premoli Silva (1973): cit.
Init. Rep. DSDP 15, page 475).
- V26-119 is located very close to DSDP Site 29 (see Init.
Rep. DSDP vol. 15, on page 21). The collection holds chips of
bulk material from core intervals at 0, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50,
57, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 992cm and
a few extra samples in between. With the collection is a rough
core description and the correspondence of Hans Bolli with various
curators. No range charts with planktic foraminifera, however,
were found so far.
